For many parents and professionals like me, who have spent years advocating for evidence-based reading instruction, this moment feels like long-overdue progress. While the bill holds promise, it’s essential to understand not just what it includes, but what it leaves out.
S2644/A43034 creates a statewide literacy working group composed of experts from across New Jersey.
Their charge: recommend how to implement evidence-based literacy strategies in public schools. The key recommendations include:
