CROSSLAKE — Up until November 2023, Crosslake was a hub for North Memorial Health ambulance services.

That changed when the service moved to a roaming staffing model centered around State Highway 371.

Crosslake Mayor Jackson Purfeerst updated the Crosslake City Council on the state of the city’s ambulance service from North Memorial at its regular meeting Monday, Aug. 11.

In a letter addressed to North Memorial Health Ambulance and posted to Facebook, Purfeerst made note of increasing response times and the need for dedicated ambulance coverage in Crosslake.

“Currently, the average response time in Crosslake is around 25 minutes, which is simply unacceptable,” Purfeerst wrote in his letter.
