KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Royals second baseman and outfielder Michael Massey is back in the lineup Monday night after a lengthy stint on the injured list.
Massey, who last played in the MLB on June 7, rejoins the Royals after rehabbing an ankle injury that placed him on the injured list in mid-June.
The 27-year-old from Palos Park, Illinois, who opened the season playing second base for the Royals is in Kansas City’s lineup Monday night for their series-opener against the Chicago White Sox. Massey is hitting eighth and playing left field.
While in the major leagues this season, Massey had a .202 average with just 2 home runs and 14 RBI.
In 111 at-bats with the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers, Massey had 4 home runs, 11 RBI and a .234 batting average.
