Huntsville has introduced its first-ever 24-hour access to Narcan, and it's completely free. The Recovery Organization of Support Specialist, known as ROSS, offers this vital service without requiring any paperwork.
ROSS is a nonprofit, peer-run agency where all employees are in recovery and certified through the Alabama Department of Mental Health. The campus coordinator, Aubin Cawthon, is in long-term opioid use recovery himself. "Being able to provide free, accessible resources to our community is how we show that recovery is possible, also that people's lives are worth living," Cawthon said.
