LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — The players from the Summerlin South Little League team arrived at Harry Reid International Airport on Monday afternoon after wrapping up their tournament Sunday in the Little League Baseball World Series championship game.

The team representing Nevada touched down in Las Vegas to a round of applause from the gathered crowd and chants of “Let’s go South.” The team won five of its seven tournament games en route to a U.S. championship, defeating Connecticut 8-2 on Aug. 23.

A celebratory parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday in downtown Summerlin.
