A father rushed to help his 17-year-old son after the teen got pulled away from the shore of a popular New Hampshire beach. Ultimately, despite his best efforts, the teen drowned.
On the evening of Sunday, Aug. 24, the teen was swimming with his family at Hampton Beach when he was pulled away by a fierce ocean current, the New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol said in a news release.
The child’s dad went into the Atlantic Ocean to try to rescue him only to become “distressed” himself.
At the time, lifeguards were off-duty but were quickly called back to the beach. Both
