ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WLNS) - To no surprise, Bryce Underwood will be QB1 for the Michigan football team in 2025.
Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore announced on Monday that the freshman phenom will be the team's starting quarterback for Saturday's season-opener against New Mexico.
Underwood was a 5-star recruit and the No. 1 player in the Class of 2024. He was committed to LSU during his senior season at Belleville High School and flipped to Michigan in late November.
Moore shared this news with the team on Sunday and announced that sophomore Jadyn Davis will be the team's backup.
This is only the fourth time in program history the Wolverines will have a true freshman start the season-opener at quarterback, and the first time since Tate Forcier in 2009.
