ROCKPORT - The Washington Catholic boys soccer team fell to South Spencer, 3-1 on Saturday.

The game started well for the Cardinals as they moved the ball into South Spencer half but the Cardinals lacked the ability to produce shots from their penetration. The Rebels were able to quickly counter but senior Cardinal goalkeeper Abdu Askar was able to prevent any goals. However midway through the half the Rebels were able to get on the scoreboard and take the first lead of the game. Brody Voges and Alex Lopez Cruz countered with shots for the Cardinals but South Spencer was able to hold off the attempts Washington put forth. Then again in the first half Washington left a player wide open in front of the goal for an easy score to make it 0-2 at the end of the half.
