On Friday, Aug. 22 at approximately 6:29 p.m., Emergency Health Services requested RCMP assistance for a reported drowning at Shulli Park beach, 1865 Bakery Frontage Road in Christina Lake.

Bystanders and first responders provided CPR and the patient was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is conducting a concurrent investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact the Grand Forks RCMP at 250-442-8288 and reference file 2025-2538.

In a press release issued Monday afternoon, RCMP did not state the age or gender of the drowning victim.
