Oklahoma City police are investigating a deadly stabbing that occurred late Saturday in the city's northwest side.

Around 10 p.m., officers responded to a call for a welfare check in the 4600 block of NW 19th. Police found a man there with numerous stab wounds and a woman who had been stabbed to death, the department said in a news release.

The man was transported in critical condition to an area hospital, where he is being treated for his wounds. The woman who was killed currently remains unidentified, police said Monday.

The two were living together at a transient camp in a wooded area near Meridian Ave. and NW 19th St., according to investigators. Officials said it is unclear what led to the two being stabbed.
