Kilmar Abrego Garcia , a Maryland resident and legally protected immigrant, was mistakenly deported to El Salvador in March 2025 due to what the Trump administration called an “administrative error.” Despite a U.S. Supreme Court ruling ordering the government to facilitate his return, Abrego Garcia, who was deported without due process, remained imprisoned in El Salvador until June 2025. He was subsequently taken to a Nashville, Tennessee prison and was held there until August 2025.
