The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie is paying tribute to Mark Davis, its first deputy mayor.

He passed away peacefully, and surrounded by family on Friday. He was 68 years old.

The municipality says he was a devoted public servant and cherished member of the community.

He was a councillor in the former Elderslie Township and then Deputy Mayor of the newly amalgamated Arran-Elderslie in 1999.

He continued to serve on council for over twenty years.

He was also the past Chair of the Chesley Fire Board and played a pivotal role in the creation of the Multi-Municipal Wind Turbine Working Group.

The Municipality says it extends its heartfelt appreciation for Mark Davis’ decades of service and the meaningful legacy he leaves behind.

Flags will be flown at half mast to mark his passing.
