CLEVELAND — The Guardians return to Progressive Field to host the Tampa Bay Rays for a three-game series beginning Aug. 25 after a rough 10-game stretch that has significantly affected their aspirations to stay in the American League playoff hunt.
The Guardians (64-65) have won just two of their last 10 games to drop down the AL Central Division and wild card standings.
For perspective, Cleveland was 61-55 after a win over the Chicago White on Aug. 9, five games behind the division-leading Detroit Tigers and a half game behind the New York Yankees .
