Grand Canyon National Park continues to announce key changes. Visitors rejoiced after trail bans were lifted for the first time since mid-July . Three major trails reopened, including the South Kaibab, the Tonto Trail, and the Bright Angel Trail.
On the flip side, Grand Canyon National Park also enforced more bans on visitors due to infrastructure issues . A broken pipeline forced strict rules on water use at the South Ruim for visitors.
With an increase in visitors, more sanctions are likely to take place in the future. For now, we continue to see examples of visitors breaking the rules. In a recent incident, two park visitors were called out by an older local. The local visitor was applauded for his efforts, though things almost escalated and took a turn.
