A wildland fire burning to the south of Rogers Lake generated noticeable smoke in the Flagstaff area on Monday morning , Aug. 25 . The Aspen Fire is approximately five acres in size and not threatening any structures.

Two hand crews and an engine from the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) were responding to the fire by the afternoon. In posts shared to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), DFFM stated that the crews were hand-cutting containment lines and conducting back-firing operations to secure a perimeter.
