ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Fire crews from across South Carolina, including numerous Lowcountry agencies, responded to a large fire at Don’s Car Crushing in Holly Hill over the weekend.
The massive fire took about 16 hours to bring under control with Colleton County Fire Rescue responding around 1:47 p.m. on Saturday and remaining on the scene until 4 a.m. Sunday, the agency said.
Orangeburg County Fire-Rescue sent out a call for tenders to help supply water for extinguishing efforts.
A statewide call was put out by the South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization later in the day, to which multiple agencies responded, including crews from Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester, and Orangeburg counties. Many upstate and midlands agencies also assisted.
