BENSONHURST — SEVERAL BROOKLYN ORGANIZATIONS JOINED FORCES TO MAKE SURE THAT MORE THAN 300 KIDS HAVE THE SCHOOL SUPPLIES THEY NEED for the new academic year.

A giveaway event was held at City Councilmember Susan Zhuang’s district office on Sunday, August 24. Zhuang mobilized multiple organizations with a reputation for supporting residents of Council District 43. Working alongside her was Assemblymember William Colton, who represents much of the same part of southwestern Brooklyn. Supplies included backpacks, glue, pencils, pens, pencil cases and more. Among the donors were the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, the NYPD, Met Council, the Council of Peoples Organization and the NYC Civil Service Employees.
