SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND)- Lincoln Park in Springfield is getting a makeover. The park's redevelopments aim to cultivate an environment where everyone's physical needs are met. "The current playground may have some barriers that would prevent people with physical disabilities from enjoying parts of the playground. So, this new playground will be accessible to all members of our community," said Executive Director Derek Harms. A $600,000 Department of Natural Resources grant is funding the renovation project. Harms said there is no local financial match required for the project, so this initiative is fully funded. These advancements bring the fun to children and adults, especially meeting their physical needs. Sensory features such as sound-making panels and textured surf
