Trey Hendrickson is staying in Cincinnati this season.

The Cincinnati Bengals' All-Pro defensive lineman has been the subject of rumors all offseason, clouding his future in the jungle. During the 2024 offseason, Hendrickson requested a trade. During the 2025 offseason, he was given permission to seek a trade and the two sides went back and forth over a new deal.

Now Hendrickson has agreed to a raise that will pay him $14 million more in 2025.

More importantly for the Bengals, check the final box that was on the to-do list this offseason. They already extended Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to solidify the offense. Hendrickson ensures that the defense won't suffer in 2025.

Money is always at the forefront of discussions surrounding the Bengals. At least for one offseason, that can be put to rest.

Here's what to know about Hendrickson's new deal.

Trey Hendrickson contract details

Hendrickson technically did not sign an extension with this deal. Instead, it is basically a raise for the 2025 season alone and he will hit free agency next offseason, as he was set to do without this new money.

That deal means he'll make $30 million in 2025, making him the sixth-highest-paid edge rusher by average annual value (AAV), according to OverTheCap. The 31-year-old was entering the final year of his deal in 2025, one that saw him check in at 10th on the highest-paid list.

Hendrickson signed a four-year, $60 million deal with the Bengals as a free agent after his rookie contract expired with the New Orleans Saints. The edge rusher agreed to a one-year extension ahead of the 2023 season, which was set to pay him $21 million in 2025.

Trey Hendrickson stats

Hendrickson led the league in sacks in 2024 with 17.5. It came at an opportune time for the star, who also turned in a 17.5-sack season in 2023.

Since arriving in Cincinnati prior to the 2021 season, Hendrickson has made four consecutive Pro Bowls and missed only three regular season games.
