Lil Nas X pleaded not guilty to felony charges stemming from an arrest in Los Angeles last week. He appeared in court on Monday, behind a glass partition and wearing a blue jumpsuit. The rapper, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was charged with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer, and one felony count of resisting an executive officer. The Old Town Road singer allegedly charged at officers when they confronted him walking naked on Ventura Boulevard shortly before 6 am on Friday last week, according to The Associated Press. Officers suspected the rapper was suffering a possible overdose and took him to a nearby hospital, where he spent several hours before being transferred to jail. Lil Nas X was initially booked on suspicion of misdemeanour obstructing an officer. TMZ reported that the musician was released on $75,000 bail and was ordered not to own, use or process illegal narcotics as part of his bail package. He also has to enrol in an outpatient program. The singer's father, Robert Stafford, told a swarm of reporters his son was focused on getting the help he needed, yet denied he was suffering from drug abuse issues.
