WILLIAMS, AZ (AZFamily) — Three high school athletes are recovering after a Friday night football game took a scary turn in northern Arizona.
Williams High School hosted Mayer in its opening game of the season. However, in just a two-hour span, the Williams Fire Department responded to multiple medical emergencies at the game.
Firefighters say three Mayer athletes were taken to Flagstaff Medical Center due to injuries sustained during the game. One athlete was airlifted off of the field, and two others were transported to the hospital from the locker room. Officials confirm all three athletes are in stable condition and have non-life-threatening injuries.
