A Delaware woman is speaking out after her husband was struck and killed by a driver who police say was involved in a street race in Newark, Delaware, on Friday.

On Aug. 22, shortly before 3:30 p.m., Jack Gantz, 75, of Newark, Delaware, was driving a Chevrolet Trax northbound on Bear Christiana Road. At the same time, a 49-year-old man from Newark, Delaware, was driving a BMW 335 southbound on Bear Christiana Road. Police said the driver of the BMW was racing another vehicle at a high speed.

As the BMW approached the intersection of Freedom Road, it crashed into the front right side of the Chevrolet as Gantz began making a left turn, investigators said.
