HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - Former Diamondhead city councilman Alan Moran won’t be released from imprisonment for at least the next three months after a judge denied a motion that would have set him free Monday.

The convicted sex offender was sentenced to 12 years in prison after Judge Christopher Schmidt ruled that Moran had violated the terms of his felony probation in June. At the time, Moran had been on probation for a little more than a year and a half after he pleaded guilty to soliciting a teenage boy for sex, but he had spent the majority of that time in Hancock County jail because of a stalking incident.
