SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) - Three people have announced plans to run for mayor of Sulphur.
State Rep. Les Farnum, City Councilman Nicholas Nezat and Funeral Director Jacob Stutes have announced their intentions to run.
Mayor Mike Danahay has not yet committed to whether he will seek a third term.
The primary election will be April 18, 2026. If no candidate gets more than 50% of the vote, a runoff election will be held May 30.

Farnum , a Republican, has represented Sulphur in the Louisiana House of Representatives since 2020. He also served as a Calcasieu Parish police juror for 12 years.
