A 45-year-old man was killed Monday afternoon in a crash involving a passenger car and a semi-truck in southeastern Fresno County, authorities said.
The collision happened at 1:15 p.m. near North and Temperance avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Investigators said a Hyundai Elantra was traveling westbound on North Avenue when the driver made a left turn into the path of an eastbound Freightliner tractor-trailer.
The impact pushed both vehicles into an orange orchard at the corner of the intersection.
The Hyundai’s driver died at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
CHP said alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
