SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The city of Santa Fe is looking to make traffic slower and quieter. The Santa Fe Police Department (SFPD) has submitted a request for proposal to the city council to install traffic cameras for both speed and sound. Soon, the police department hopes to install these cameras to crack down on drivers breaking the rules.
These cameras will be the first of their kind for the city. Santa Fe had speed cameras more than a decade ago, but they ended the contract in 2013. Now, the goal is to crack down not only on speeders, but on noisy exhausts as well.
