LINDALE, Texas — A Lindale family is rebuilding their lives after a fire destroyed their home. Now the community is stepping up to help.
"The fire took a lot of memories away."
Eighth grader William Angell was home alone asleep when he woke up to what he thought was his AC overheating. Moments later, his entire home was engulfed in flames.
"I realized there was smoke all over the place, and my first thought was to get out of the house," Angell said.
William was rushed to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
"It was just a miracle that my son had made it out of the house alive," his mom Pamela Gilbreath said.
"A lot of things that were replaceable can be replaced. But in good ways, it's knowing that I know there's people out there that can help in most in any situation," Angel said.
