All Dixie ever wanted was a loving home and a human to call her own.

Her wish came true when she was adopted from a New Jersey shelter into a caring family. For three full years, Dixie’s life was full of walks, play, and adventures with her pawrents.

Sadly, her happy life came to a halt three years later. Circumstances forced her back into a shelter, leaving her caregivers heartbroken.

A Dream Home Shattered

After leaving the Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter , New Jersey, Dixie adjusted beautifully to her new life. Everything seemed perfect until her owner had to leave her temporarily with a friend, an event that would turn her world upside down.
