It seems Ron Davis was destined for radio.

He was a student at Butte High School when he began working at the Butte radio station KBOW on Sept. 15, 1979.

In 1985, he and his wife, Shelly, decided to expand their horizons and headed for Minneapolis where he worked for the radio stations KMFY, WLOL and WAYL.

Their time in the "city of lakes" was brief.

A phone call from his former boss, Shag Miller, would bring them back to Butte.

"Shag called and said things aren't working right in Butte and I need you back," recalled Ron. "So, Shelly and I came home."

Coming home would become a permanent move and for the next several years, he served as general manager and worked in sales at KBOW/KOPR.

However, a shift was brewing.
