The city of San Diego paid a San Francisco law firm thousands of dollars for a fact-finding investigation into San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl earlier this year, but the results of that investigation were redacted in a public records request and still have not been released to the public.
Monday morning at the San Diego Civic concourse, community leaders pushed for the release of the investigation's findings and more transparency from police and city leaders.
"The people of San Diego deserve honesty, accountability and leadership that respects the law," said Tasha Williamson, a social justice advocate.
When Wahl was confirmed by the city council in May 2024 he said, "I am committed to being transparent and committed to being accountable."
