BALTIMORE — Red Sox right fielder Wilyer Abreu is eligible to be activated from the 10-day injured list Thursday, but his return will likely be delayed until next week
Boston placed the 26-year-old on the injured list Friday after battling calf tightness for a few days .
“He’s doing OK, progressing,” manager Alex Cora said Monday before Boston’s game against the Orioles . “But I don’t know if it’s going to be this week. We’ll see. Hopefully there’s a jump in the upcoming days. But (head athletic trainer) Brandon (Henry) feels like it’s going to be during the homestand but not this week.”
Abreu is here in Baltimore with the team and was scheduled to run Monday. The Red Sox have four games here Monday-Thursday.
