SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WKOW) -- The president of the Sun Prairie Area School District Board of Education resigned from the post on Monday.
At Monday night's school board meeting, the board's vice president, Bryn Horton, said president Katey Kamoku resigned Monday morning, effective immediately.
Horton did not provide a reason for Kamoku's resignation.
Later, a spokesperson for the school district sent out an announcement about Kamoku's move. In an email to the board, Kamoku told her now-former colleagues, “I have enjoyed my 2.5 years of service, but the time has come for me to prioritize my children and my job.”
The move comes amid heightened scrutiny of the school board's handling of the accusations against former Sun Prairie West High School Dean of Students Robert Gilkey-Meisegeier. Gi
