ALEXANDRIA — A micro-business that wants to cultivate and sell cannabis plants indoors received a conditional use permit from the Alexandria City Council Monday night.

Jordan Manjo, doing business as Blissful Buds, applied for the permit. City code allows up to 15,000 square feet of cannabis cultivation as a conditional use in the B-2 zoning district. Blissful Buds, however, only needs 200 square feet and it will operate out of Allure Tan and Spa's building, which is 4,000 in square feet.

The building, which is on the west side of the Viking Plaza Mall west paring lot, will no longer be used as a spa. The site is a separate lot from the mall, according to City Planner Mike Weber.
