The Toronto Blue Jays made a risky trade at the trade deadline by acquiring Shane Bieber from the Cleveland Guardians.

Bieber had not pitched in the big leagues since April of last year at that point, but the Blue Jays were betting on him being a star once he returned. Bieber made his debut for the Blue Jays on Aug. 22 and looked great.

Bieber went six innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run. It was his first big league action since last year, and he looked like a star. In fact, he looked so good, former Blue Jays pitcher Dan Plesac made a bold claim about the former Cy Young Award winner.

"From the guy that I saw Friday night in Miami, if he's that guy for the next four weeks, he's No. 1," Plesac said on MLB Network when asked where Bieber would slot in the Blue Jays rot
