Two people died after a power line fell on Bolívar Street in the center of Baruta, Miranda state.

The victims were identified as Johana Yanes Sánchez, 47 years old, and her grandson Jonhdeiker Sánchez, 10 years old.

Both were traveling through the area when the high-voltage power line collapsed and fell on them. The bus stop for Las Minas de Baruta is located a few meters from the scene. The passengers on the bus escaped unharmed through the rear door.

Witnesses say one of the victims burst into flames after being hit by the power lines.

Both individuals lived in the popular area of Ojo de Agua, the Citizen Security Department of the Baruta Municipality later reported.
