It started with a four-run first inning off Twins ace Joe Ryan that featured an RBI single by the red-hot Bo Bichette, a Daulton Varsho sacrifice fly and a two-run home run by Alejandro Kirk .

Jays right-hander Max Scherzer rode that big inning until he hit a wall in the sixth, by which point the lead had been extended to 6-1.
