Cam Bynum reunited with Mekhi Blackmon after Colts-Vikings trade

Cam Bynum left Minnesota in free agency to sign a four-year, $60 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts to become Lou Anarumo’s starting free safety.

24 weeks to the day later, Bynum is back with one of his former teammates with the Vikings as the Colts traded their 2026 sixth-round pick to Minnesota in exchange for cornerback Mekhi Blackmon on Monday.

Blackmon, a former third-round selection out of USC in 2023, gets a fresh start after missing the entirety of 2024 with a torn ACL. Prior to that, he started three of the 15 games he appeared in as a rookie, recording an interception and eight passes defended. He played in all three of Minnesota’s preseason matchups, totalling 117 snaps.
