Lightning manager Jody Dickau said they currently have 50 players interested in trying out for the Junior C team, but last year saw 20 walk-on tryouts added to the 28 that had expressed interest last year. Article content Article content

“It’s pretty exciting,” said Dickau.

In its fourth year with the NorAlta Jr. C League, Dickau said the goal is for the team to make playoffs.

“It’s tough when you look at the fact all these Edmonton teams are made up of AAA players and we’re looking at Tier 2 or 3 here in Millet. On paper, those Edmonton teams should breeze through, but they dont’,” said Dickau. “Our guys work really h
