DETROIT, MI (CW39) – Federal prosecutors charged David Taylor, 53, and Michelle Brannon, 56, accusing them of forcing followers to work without pay and laundering millions through the Kingdom of God Global Church.
Investigators say victims were abused, deprived of food and sleep, and threatened with “divine judgment” if they failed to raise money. Since 2014, Taylor allegedly collected about $50 million in donations, funding luxury homes, cars, and boats.
Both face up to 20 years in prison for forced labor plus additional penalties for money laundering.
