SYRACUSE, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- A Utica man is facing child exploitation charges after appearing in federal court in Syracuse on Tuesday.

20-year-old Win Naing of Utica appeared in federal court on Tuesday, August 27 on charges of receipt and possession of child pornography, according to acting United States Attorney John Sarcone.

“Collecting child pornography is not a victimless crime and the defendant in this case will now suffer the grave consequences of his despicable actions," Sarcone said in a statement. Anyone who traffics in child pornography in the Northern District of New York should be prepared to face swift and immediate justice and can expect to spend years behind bars.”
