CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. — The man who placed a homemade bomb near a Capitol Heights fire station has been taken into custody.

On Saturday, Slater Chaia of District Heights was seen across the street from a fire station in Capitol Heights by on-duty firefighters. Chaia was wanted for placing homemade bombs at that same fire station two weeks prior.

On Aug. 13, around 8 a.m., surveillance camera footage captured Chaia placing the improvised incendiary device near Fire Station 805.

In the video, Chaia was carrying a package, walked over to a flagpole, and put down two plastic bottles of what looked like water.
