PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Vancouver lawyer suspected of forging documents to evade her client’s arrest will serve time.
Lewis County Superior Court Judge Joely Yeager sentenced Josephine Townsend to four months on Tuesday. Records show the defense attorney will serve 10 days in a local jail, with the remainder of her time being served on “EHM” — or Electric Home Monitoring. She was also sentenced to 12 months of probation, and fined $700.
Townsend was convicted on forgery and identity theft charges just last month, The Columbian reported. The office of former Washington Attorney General and current Gov. Bob Ferguson revealed that she was first charged with two felony counts of forgery in December 2024.
