JEROME — Parents packed the school board meeting on Tuesday night to express their disappointment with the school district’s new busing system that shut down schools last week.
Issues with registration and routing led to kids getting home late and being unaccounted for, while a lack of communication left parents frustrated.
It’s a matter of life and death for some concerned parents, including Matthew Cardona.
“You guys are going to lose a kid,” Cardona told the school board. “You guys are going to hurt a kid. You guys are going to kill a kid if you guys don’t figure this out.”
The school district cut ties with a private contractor beginning this school year and is now operating its own transportation system.
Jerome schools were closed Thursday and Friday but opened back up on Monday.
