Hurricane Katrina changed Courtney Werpy Story’s life.

The devastating and deadly storm hit Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama 20 years ago, in late August of 2005. The experience inspired Story to change her career path and her address.

“I haven’t left,” she said. “I just love New Orleans so much. The people are so wonderful. I knew I wanted to stay and give back to the community."
