At 65, most teachers are thinking of enjoying their retirement away from school, but Scott Goodyear relishes his involvement with teaching.
The former IndyCar driver from Toronto is race director of FR Americas, a U.S.-based Formula Regional Championship created to offer young circuit drivers the opportunity to gain experience and prosper in open-wheeled racing. It is recognized by the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile), the world body that regulates formula racing.
“What excites me now is watching young drivers come up out of karting, into cars, and grow,” said Goodyear, who will be on hand this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for its final major event of the season featuring competition from the Trans-Am Series presented by Pirelli, the NASCAR Canada Series, the E
