House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter (R-Rainsville) announced on Wednesday that State Rep. Troy Stubbs (R-Wetumpka) has been appointed to the vice chairmanship of the House Committee on County and Municipal Government.

Now-former State Rep. Debbie Wood (R-Valley) previously held the position, but resigned from the House of Representatives last month.

Stubbs has served on the House Committee on County and Municipal Government for the last several years, and his previous experience on the Elmore County Commission makes him the obvious choice to step into the role of vice chairman," Ledbetter said in a statement.
