When you’re driving through Colorado on a road trip, where you stop to grab a bite or fill up your tank can make a huge difference in your experience.

That’s one of the most notable findings of a study by altLINE, and alternative financing division of the Southern Bank. The study looked at thousands of Google reviews of rest stops, truck stops and related businesses around the country to identify the best and the worst.

The Boulder area averaged just three stars across more than 2,000 reviews, making it one of the lowest-rated clusters in the country. That’s low even for Colorado, which had the second-worst ratings of any state in the study.
