Thursday, August 28th, 2025, The Emmett Till Interpretive Center commemorates the 70th anniversary of Emmett Louis Till, a 14-year-old from Chicago, who was murdered while visiting his family in Money, Mississippi. As part of the commemoration, a series of activities will take place from August 28 to August 30 at Mississippi Valley State University and the Barn in Drew, Mississippi.

With the theme “Remembering Emmett,” the organizers aim to preserve Till’s memory and authentically cherish this painful chapter in American history through various events, including a theatrical performance, a memorial service, a wreath-laying ceremony and panel discussions.
