AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — On Thursday, TxDOT announced the right lane of southbound I-27 will be closed from McCormick Road to FM 2219 for concrete barrier placement.

According to officials, the overnight work will take place on Thursday at 7 p.m. and is expected to be completed by 6 a.m., on Friday. The entrance ramp south of McCormick and the exit ramp to FM 2219 will also be closed during this time.

TxDOT advised the community to drive with caution and reduce speed through all work zones. All projects are subject to change due to weather, emergency work and other unexpected events. Drivers should allow enough time to safely reach destinations if the closures affect their commute.
