A Kincardine resident is out nearly $100,000 after falling victim to a recent cryptocurrency scam, according to police. Article content

On Aug. 26, the victim reported to South Bruce OPP that over the past few months they made a series of transactions through a cryptocurrency trading website and had talked to an individual on numerous occasions to facilitate the transactions, with the individual requesting more money be sent each time, an Aug. 27 new release said. The victim contacted police after unsuccessfully attempting to withdraw funds. According to police, the total funds lost amounted to approximately $95,000. The investigation has been passed over to the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit.
